Andreina Jolin - January 2019

Andreina Jolin is a five-piece all-female band, based in Iruña in the Basque Country. Two of the musicians are Basque and the other three from Latin America (Cuba, Mexico and Venezuela). They play an exciting and eclectic mix of traditional music from these four places. Violin, guitar, a variety of percussion and five voices make up their sound.

In the Wynnstay Hotel, Machynlleth (Thursday 3rd January), they will be joined by the very talented singer-songwriter Meinir Gwilym, supported by an array of local talent – the triple harpist Cerys Havana, the traditional singer Alaw Fflur Jones and the Davalan family from Dinas Mawddwy. And we will have a surprise special guest.
In Y Llew Coch, Dinas Mawddwy (Friday 4th January), they will be joined by the talented musicians’ collective Cerrig Camu, which includes Gwilym Bowen Rhys, Iestyn Tyne, Osian Morris, Nicolas Davalan, Cerys Hafana and Alaw Fflur Jones. Gai Toms will be joining us as a special guest.
In the Dovey Valley Hotel, Cemmaes Road (Saturday afternoon, 5th January) they will be playing alone, before moving on to their final gig in Ty-Siamas, Dolgellau in the evening, where they will be supported by Blodau Gwylltion and Osian Morris.
